The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has now called all Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) and interested parties to join its upcoming event that will include several useful resources and presentations pertaining to licensing and gun ownership. The event called the “NICS Retailer Day” will be held on July 25 at the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
The one-day only event will essentially connect licensed dealers with federal experts to answer all their queries and help them process different applications. Assistance on-site will also be provided for the processing of ATF 4473 forms, resolution cards for delayed or denied customers, and the updating of FLL information. Applicants may also attend the event to learn about the FLL enrollment process. Event organizers will facilitate in the enrollment of interested parties and instruct them on the proper way of using the NICS E-Check website and its features.
Several resources will be made available during the event, which will include updates regarding the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), the Federal Firearms Licensee Manual, E-check Website features, a guide for Non-U.S. citizens firearm purchasing, and other revised information.
There will be a presentation made by experts at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) along with a panel session to be held afterward. The presentation will include topics such as the updated ATF website, permit information, private sales procedures, and updates to different state laws and published ordinances that have already taken effect.
Registrations for the upcoming event will close on June 30. Interested parties may register by visiting the NICS FFL website and by filling out the registration form. All of the resources that will be provided during the event are also outlined on the same website.
